The Westlands
The Westlands lie between the Aryth Ocean and the Spine of the World. Fifteen nations, from Saldaea in the north to Tear in the south, share the land, and nearly all of the story takes place here.

South-east across the sea lies a continent once called the Land of the Madmen and now known as the Mad Lands. Its people are said to live in chaos, with no nations at all.
The Isles of the Sea Folk
The Atha'an Miere, the Sea Folk, live on islands scattered across the southern seas, such as Tremalking, and sail between every coast of the known world.
The Blight
A band of corrupted forest stretches across the far north of the continent. Beyond it rise the Mountains of Dhoom and the Blasted Lands around Shayol Ghul.
